Is 3 times enough ? Ive been going 4 times but I’m thinking 3 might be enough
I’ve heard that people who really like the gym sometimes go and don’t work out. They go every day, but if they’re not feeling the workout they just read a book or take a shower or something. That way, they stay in the routine of going and don’t feel obligated to overexert themselves.
I do not go to the gym at all, though, so maybe my advice sucks. I wouldn’t know.
I’ve changed my work shift so I work 3 afternoons and 2 mornings. And those 3 afternoons I plan to workout in the mornings. But I don’t know if I need to go Sunday too.
That thought never crossed my mind though @Ninjastar thank you.
It depends on how you exercise and how you are able to manage your motivation.
Full body strength workouts (I think you do those, right?) should usually be done at most every other day, unless you’re doing very light workouts. But you can generally jog as much as you want to. With more intense running/cardio you need to add time for resititution.
Edit: If you’re just worried about losing your progress, don’t worry. You’ll be fine with 3 days a week.
I’ve been going to the gym twice a week and sometimes doing some lifts at home with 10/5 lbs dumbbell. The two times right now is because of school and that I can get access to a gym for free. Once that ends I see that I will get one at the local gym and see how my work and gym life clash till I have a routine.
When I had a gym membership had I not had a child I would go every day if I could. My daughter got on the school bus at 8 am. I got to the gym at 830 so I worked out til 9 and showered. Had to be at work at 10 am.
3 times a week is good enough for your overall health
I think 3 is good.
My daughter who is very fit goes to the gym 2-3 times a week and does rugby practice 2x a week.
I would like to go every other day. I love yoga.
I do yoga 5 to 6 days a week for 40 to 50 minutes each day. I love it and it keeps me very fit at my age of 59. My BMI is 24.0
I love yoga too but I just have no patience for it when on antipsychotics. Its really fulfilling Excerise otherwise
Contemplating going to the gym today, to do some light exercise even know I had a psychosis last time I went.
