I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia but I’ve never heard voices, my hallucinatory symptoms appear to be limited to hearing different words, sometimes trying to convey a meaning, when I listen to music. Anyone else here has experienced unusual symptoms or perhaps common symptoms in an unusual way?
I was hearing a song on the radio completely backwards.
I’m diagnosed with SZA currently and bipolar previously and I don’t hear voices and rarely hallucinate
What I mainly experience when psychotic are delusions and paranoia
I used to suffer from “functional hallucinations” whereby I’d get telepathic messages whenever I heard external noises.
What is an example of a functional hallucination?
[1] For example, a patient may report hearing voices criticizing him every time he hears the sound of a rotating fan, and which stop when the fan is not running. Their exact significance is unknown, but they have been reported in schizophrenia and other functional psychotic disorders.
Is this like you hear voices in sounds or you think words when you hear sounds? I get both @everhopeful
It’s this.
It doesn’t happen anymore though.
I don’t hear voices, I have paranoia especially when Im stressed. I also have experienced delusions.
I have voices and feel strange sensations in my brain.
I used to be paranoid and had different delusions. Thought my computer was hacked, thought I could speak to angels, suffered from religious delusions, thought I was a prophet, thought I was being watched, felt controlled etc… Typical sz symptoms.
