How long have your symptoms been going on? When did you realize it?
My psychosis started when I was really little, around 5 years old or so. I started getting more symptoms when I turned 18, though, and it has been steadily declining.

My psychosis started when I was really little, around 5 years old or so. I started getting more symptoms when I turned 18, though, and it has been steadily declining.
I also first heard voices when I was 5 - 6 years old. However the voices were only very sporadic. They only occurred a few times when I was a kid. Now I hear them much more often. Then I started having delusions when I was about 17. I thought my parents were poisoning me (which of course they weren’t). I was diagnosed with delusional disorder. Then when the voices got really bad (like when I was in my twenties) then I got diagnosed as a Schizophrenic. Clozaryl is the only drug that has made a difference, and I probably would have never graduated from college without it.
I had no psychotic symptoms at all until I was 46. That was a year and a half ago. I am delusional but have not had a psychotic episode for almost a year.
I believe I was very young when my psychosis started but I was 12 when I was first diagnosed
I believe I was 19…I started feeling very euphoric or had the so-called “peak experiences” with no recourse to any drug, and my social life completely dissolved-the phone ringing made me anxious, scared, and otherwise overwhelmed my senses. Like many people with schizophrenia I’ve known throughout life I took to wandering around town aimlessly, coping with the sounds and voices through walking, rehearsing events that seemed very real.
