does it cause alot of weight gain like other ap’s, is it effective, what are the side effects is anyone taking this, im asking because i think my pdoc said something about latuda when i saw him a couple months ago and im wondering what its like since it is one of the only atypical ap’s i havent tried it seems like it is like geodon but i dont know geodon was bad for me but it didnt cause weight gain
The first time I took a Latuda I felt normal again. Unfortunately that high only lasted one day but it does have incredible antidepressant qualities.
I weighed about 170 to 180 pounds when I just took Geodon. Since I started Latuda I weigh 215 to 220 but am maintaining that weight and not gaining anymore. So I put on about 40 pounds but I am tall and it doesn’t really show. I was too skinny.
I think you will like it if you have prominent negatives.
i dont really have bad negatives i just cant function because of hallucinations and paranoia and my mood is terrible when im not on an ap i wish there was a med that would get rid of those without making me gain weight ive tried abilify and geodon and those are like the only weight neutral ones and they dont work well for me ;(

They took me off Geodon and put me on Latuda a few years ago. It seemed like I was angrier than usual when I was on Latuda, but that could have been due to withdrawal from Geodon. I asked them to take me off Latuda and put me back on Geodon. Geodon has been good for me.
i dont want to take the risk of getting high prolactin or gynecomastia on invega so i havent taken it

Latuda gives me weird side effects like nausea at night, then makes me fall asleep an hour later. During the day it makes me overly active since it has anti depressive properties. I can’t relax, but can’t really work longer than my normal capacities can handle. Been dieting and lost 10 pounds on it. When I don’t diet, I just stay the same weight. Overall I am functional. I wake up at 5:45 every morning and stay active the entire day without problems.
