Find out what passions you have and make your lifestyle around that. It should make you want to get up in the morning.

I think a lot of problems with motivation is down to meds, and sedation,

It is difficult though bc we need meds to remain stable,

I’m lucky i guess as i only need a low dose of meds and i think that is better, my chemist said it was anyway and i trust them

Lately only if I get super bored or sick of doing nothing. Even then I can’t do things I used to love. I’m scared to listen to my old music out loud anymore, gave up sports, movies ect…

for me, when i was living alone, or quasi-alone, in a city with my roommate, and sometimes his younger son, it began to be lifting weights. i had no bench, but i knew i could do quite a few things with nothing but a barbell. i only had a couple weight plates, but i knew i could do just a super mean amount of repetitions. and that really started to get me feeling not normal, but like i had more energy throughout the day, to the point that it was fueling everything i did, even getting closer in my Faith.

i frequently guilt trip myself into doing things. its like tug of war between guilt and anxiety on one side and total apathy on the other lol

I try not to push myself into doing things just for the sake of doing things. I try to be nice to myself. If that makes sense?

case in point. the lawn hasn’t been mowed in two weeks. it is tall. it is hot here in Oklahoma so I am getting up at 7 am tomorrow to mow the front lawn…the back yard isn’t very tall. what do I do by motivation? everyone else on my street has trimmed yards…makes me feel lousy so I fix it. It’s hard as hell…but I do it anyways with a smile on my face…because after I do it I feel really good about myself…it’s like that…it’s hard, but it makes you feel so good about yourself after you do it !! @roxanna

I just make a mindful daily habit of doing my hobbies. I also take breaks so I don’t get burnt out

Exercise. Made huge difference for me mentally and physically!

When I was a drug user, I always wanted to know where the drugs were coming from. It is hard to believe, but it is now four years since I’ve had any tobacco!

You can motivate me with money.

Well, I trick myself into getting unpleasant jobs further along by mind games. You know, “Just a little more, and I’ll quit for today.” Or, if I’m cleaning my apartment, I imagine the Queen is going to stop by unexpectedly, and every little detail finished will be noted with appreciation.

I don’t know, you tell me. I’m supposed to be showering now and I’m not. Same old stuff.

This motivation buissness. I don’t know I am not a robot who has to trigger itself to do stuff. I do what interest me lying in bed, being clean, being dirty. Eat, drink breathe. Hold my breath and stop the time. 2 min. Btw.

No hope… :frowning:

How to stay motivated - have kids.

You’ll never need to think of what to do next. They’ll be in your ear reminding you constantly. Lol
