How do you get over something?

Sometimes I get stuck after something doesn’t go well. This is my third day moping because I can’t get out of the funk. What helps?

You got to be more explicit for us to understand

We went to DC for our anniversary. My husband wanted to not worry about how much money we spent. I was watching our money. So instead of eating a nice meal for our fifth wedding anniversary, we ate sandwiches. We ended up getting hungry because it wasn’t enough food and stopped for more food at a restaurant next to the highway on our way home. We spent more on two bad meals than we would have on one nice meal together at a nice restaurant in DC on our anniversary. We ate unhealthy, crushing our food eating goals. The stop made the night later, which made the next morning later. And I felt physically sick. I’m just thinking

  1. I ruin everything.
  2. I can’t do anything right.
  3. Even what could be nice isn’t.
  4. I will never feel happy again.
  5. We needed a good memory.

Oh dear. Dont put so much pressure on you. Your thinking probably came from a good place.

He sure isn’t thinking that way, he must love you…

If you get some relief from talking then talk with your husband about this and you will see there’s nothing to worry about.

That’s the thing. He’s fine. He’s happy and even peppy. He says it was a great day. It’s just me. I just wanted a good day.

I agree with @anon92220549. Your husband loves you and had a great day. Doesn’t that make it a success if that’s what you wanted to happen? I think you’re overthinking it. I do this, too. You just have to learn to give yourself a break. Everything’s not gonna go right. That’s just how life is. But you can still enjoy the little moments. Take care.

I agree with @anon92220549 and @disciple , when I lived in America I visited Washington DC a few times, back in 2000 when I lived in my auto in America I stayed 3-4 days in Washington DC, I liked the metro / subway.
