I think deserve is the key word here. My mother kept after me about being independent until I really was confused about where I belong in this life. She was a dependent person herself. But we all need people whether it’s someone to help heal the heart or someone to fix the furnace. It’s immature to pretend we’re not needy.

This is a sore point for me. Ive accepted that i needed and deserved help in the past but didn’t get it.
I fluctuate between thinking I’m not deserving and don’t need help/should just pull myself together(and am pathetic because I don’t) and bemoaning the fact help has been thin on the ground.
Same with @77nick77
It’s never difficult for me to accept help when needed. I like it when people help me when I really need it but I hate it when I don’t need it.
