Did u wean off, quit suddenly? Any advice? I’ve been trying to quit for a couple months now and keep failing. Longest I lasted was 3 days.
I started with the commitment to myself that I would not purchase cigarettes for myself. I refused to do so no matter what. I left myself the leeway to get one off someone else on occasion. I used nicotine gum in the beginning. When I ran out of that I used an e-cig.
I have not bought myself a pack of cigarettes since I made that commitment many months ago now.
Champix/chantix. Doesn’t work for all but it was simple and easy and I’d tried everything to no avail as in cold turkey…nicotine replacement. Talk to a doctor.
i dont smoke but there is researches on pubmed about the effectiveness of both varenicline and
bupropion in smoking cessation you can try both of them and see the result they consider safe
I used to love smoking. When I didn’t have money I would pick up the snipes on the streets and At outside ashtrays and smoke the shorts. I went to vaping and then quit that too. Just didn’t want to do it anymore. I dunno
Vaping def gets me of the cigs. Unfortunately i think i have a reaction to it cause it causes my heart to skip beats.
I smoked from like 16 until I was 49. So like 30 years. I did have about a year break when I was psychotic , though.
I think the best method might be different for everyone, but I found the gentle, ease into it approach worked best for me.
I tried several times to quit cold turkey, tried the patches, the gum. My most successful outside of my final current success was when I was psychotic and had delusional motivation.
It’s not easy quitting.
I wish I had that strength. I can want with every part of my wanting to not smoke, and yet I’ll head to my pack.
I wouldnt beat yourself up over it. It took me many many years to get there. If you keep trying eventually you might get there.
Thank you

I tried many times, but i think i don’t want to quit. I love smoking too much. Its great when you can do it. I suggest you go away for 4 weeks away into rehab or such and when you come back make sure you don’t have any friends who smoke.
I quit cold turkey 5 years ago with Nicorette gum. I used it for a couple of months. Then I quit the gum.
Haven’t looked back and couldn’t be happier.
Just keep trying. It took me about a dozen attempts to quit.
I quit cold turkey and after two weeks stopped thinking about it.
Buddy system
I quit with a roommate of mine
Were you a big smoker?
How many a day?
Because i think it depends on how many you smoke as to how easy is to quit thats imo anyway
I smoked 20 Marlboro Golds a day for about a decade.
Oh thats substantial
I smoke equivalent to 40 cigs a day
Its a really tough thing, obviously id love to quit save me money health etc
Ive tried everything i think
I started when i was 20 yrs smoking 10 a day, then the past few years its gone up, im 44
It can be a long battle, but you can win it!
Don’t give up.
Thanks
