I have dealt with avolition too. It is possible to do better, though. I am currently doing better than I have in a while. My house looks lived in but not dirty because I’ve been neatening up every now and then. I have been showering, putting on makeup, and getting dressed up nice. I have been going out with my husband, and today I even went out on my own to meet with someone about volunteering so I can get out even more! I want to get out now. That is new. So you can improve. I don’t know if it will last, but I will enjoy it while it does. I hope you, too, will feel better soon.

I just experienced avolition for the first time yesterday and I experience it again. So I have only experienced it twice.

I can relate to a lot of replies on this topic
It feels like there is a brick wall stopping me from initiating tasks and no matter how hard I try, I will not be able to break the brick wall and get started.
I used to be a lot worse than before. I’ve started Abilify, and I believe the partial dopamine agonism is helping somewhat
