Does anyone else have a poor short term memory? I consistantly forget what I was about to do, forget peoples names that I just met, forget the thoughts I was just having. Im only 25 years old but ive had a lot of concussions. Maybe its the meds im on? I take Olanzapine and Cipralex.

I started having memory problems since I got sz symptoms before being diagnosed and medicated, at 20y.o. I was diagnosed and put on meds at 22y.o. Pretty sure its sz cognitive symptoms as before sz symptoms no memory problems. According to my psychiatrist its caused by low dopamine in some brain parts, I fully agree with him as my memory improved when I took dopamine supplements but it caused psychosis symptoms.

Which kind of dopamine supplements? So too much dopamine is bad for us?

Antipsychotics block dopamine so boosting dopamine will lead to psychosis. The supplement I used contain 15% L-Dopa, its called Mucuna Pruriens by Now brand from iHerb.

I am not a Dr but I dont think so. I think almost all antidepressants work on serotonin.

This is what has always scared me about certain schizophrenia medications. I’ve been through a crushing depression, and I can’t risk that again

Yes true but for me they are sz negative symptoms as I dont feel depressed but have these.

Even I have horrible memory, half of it was doubt of forgetting and other half just like cut off switch. It always happens in a conversation, when I get excited and I forget the topic.
