Hopefully things will be sorted

Seeing as my voices have been so much worse lately, I had my care coordinator round today

And I’m going to be doing a med swap with the consultant in about a week, for the mean time, I’m going on 12.5 zyprexa, and I’ve also been put on alert with the crisis team as I’ve had two breakdowns recently,

Feel positive that things are in the works.

My med change is to find one that’s less sedating, what are your experiences with meds? Anyone that’s on one that’s not sedating?

Thank you

I liked haldol on doses under 18+ mg. They weren’t sedating. Anything above that and I was a zombie. But I really prefer haldol decanoate (monthly shot). So much better. Plus I can take higher doses and still don’t get overly sedated. I switched because the dose I needed to be on left me unable to care for myself, let alone my baby.

I can’t get through the morning without napping, on olanzapine I need like 11+ hours of sleep and I feel haggered, my reason for changing is the same as you! Can’t wait to see what the consultant says. Although the thought of a shot scares me! Does it hurt?

Not really. I mean, you can feel it, but it’s not bad at all. It gets a bit sore for a few days after. That’s the worst part and a small bruise on your butt/hip isn’t really that big of a deal.
