Hope (a poem)

Don’t build hope
On something you can’t fix.
Maybe you can try to fix it with gold,
Or use enamel to make it pretty,
But can you make it usable, and are you sure about your answer?

Don’t build hope on something
You can never fix.
Maybe you can try melting it, burning it,
Or do something with it to fix it.
Pain with pain, sharpness with sharpness,
Melt metal dropping onto a fragile surface.
But it’s just shattered glass. It’s broken.
