Hindsight is 20/20

I always hated wearing glasses. I remember when I was 19 and I had first gotten diagnosed. I was always freaking out about something or other and I got it into my head that I didn’t need my glasses anymore. I had worn glasses since third grade but I thought I didn’t need them anymore and I went driving without them!

I remember I was across town at a bus stop. My dad had just bought me a new pair and I took them off and just tossed them several feet away into some weeds. Then I caught the bus home.

When I got home and I wasn’t wearing glasses my dad asked where they were and I told him. He was furious. He had just paid good money for them but I told him I didn’t need them anymore and we got in a huge argument and he made me take a bus back to that bus stop and search the area until I found them.

It seems funny now but it was a big fight between me and my dad back then.

That’s a good story… did you ever find them?

I’ve had to face facts that I needed glasses. My distance vision is terrible. But my near vision is fine. I can type this without needing them. I can see from your dad’s point of view. Glasses aren’t cheap.
