Saw this recently:
Hillary Clintonâs healthcare plans bring risk (to healthcare industry), Donald Trumpâs need detail, Fitch says
Fitch Ratings said Clintonâs proposals would be good in the short-term but are uncertain over time, while Trump has said too little beyond his intention to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
âHer proposal includes allowing people over 55 years old to purchase Medicare coverage, which may push revenue mix further toward Medicare and away from commercial insurance, compressing overall reimbursement. The impact largely depends on whether existing supplemental reimbursement mechanisms that offset care would be reduced for the uninsured/underinsured. The impact could also hinge on whether the incremental revenue from Medicare/Medicaid, and the public option, reimbursement would offset that loss.â
Fitch said they have not spoken out on the Trump healthcare plan due to the "lack of specificity on what would be implemented after his ârepeal and replaceâ strategy.
