I’ve not gotten my prolactin measured but I know that it’s high but not dangerous high.
what medicines where u taking when ur prolactin was high? did u switch medicine and it come down?
I forgot about updating! So sorry!
I was/am still taking Rexulti and olanzapine.
I didn’t switch. I saw my Dr. she didn’t feel the need to retest it even. I don’t know what it is right now. She said it was high but not dangerously high. The chart online that I saw was misleading I guess. She said it was ok for now.
oh thats good thanks for the update
Do u drink caffeine?
I have extremely high prolactin levels my DR said only pregnant women have it as high as I do. My ob Dr found it out too.
However my pdoc said it wasn’t a mandatory test for her on these meds.
I think we all should stop with caffeine cause it’s interaction with the medicines I just figured out it just recently.
it should be. in woman it can cause breast and gyno tumors. im sick of drs ignoring prolactin levels.
I didn’t know all that. I’m gonna ask gp for labs next week.
yep. in my 20s when i was on very high doses of multiple high prolactin meds i got cervical dysplacia. my body cleared it when i quit my meds but i didnt even know at the time it was a possible side effect of prolactin. found out while researching prolactin last week.
@irrelevant I am not sure exactly what else I can do because my dr has already told me that it is something that she is not going to be worried about and didn’t do anything else for it.
That people have much higher levels than me and I should not be concerned.
That I don’t even need to bother with retesting my prolactin levels even though they were high.
Now I’m anxious and worried again.
it probably does depend how high they were. if they were just over normal u will prob be okay. but u can look up b6 for prolactin. its supposed to be better than the prescriptions for prolactin. also zinc. but just dont take too much b6. ive been taking 100mg a day. but most the studies that showed it worked were 300-600mg but that can have side effects like nerve damage after a while, months to years, but i did read it is usually reversable. and you could ask ur doctor to check it again or ask another dr to check it. or depending on were u live u can pay a lab to test it urself.
if it were me i would prob take 100-200mg b6 a day and then get my prolactin retested after a while to see if the b6 worked
I have high prolactin from amisulpride but my doc has never tested it, he’s never made a big deal about it and I wonder if that’s ok?
I lactated (!) on Risperidone but on amisulpride I just have no periods and no sex drive.
My doc says high prolactin doesn’t cause any higher rate of breast cancer. Maybe I should get it tested.
Abilify has one of the lowest prolactin levels
Im gonna do an x-ray and bloodwork for high prolactin. Dont know much about prolactin but good they gonna do tests.
