Hiding ur wealth if ur wealthy

If I were wealthy I would live way below my means. I would make sure my kids were safe and healthy but I wouldn’t let them know how much money I really had. Not like I’d try to be hiding my fortune from them, but because I think humility is important, or am i wrong? Maybe it’s because I’m not materialistic also.

It would leave more room to donate to charity too.

Well that’s something I’ll never have to worry about…My parents have lots of money and I constantly tell them to shove it pretty much and how I loathe the materialistic society we live in and that they adhere to. Thank you for your support when I was going through rough times, but I could give an S about inheritance or anything like that. Give it all to my sister plz…

I think the millionaires and billionaires have a moral obligation to redistribute most of their wealth to the needy and good causes.

a lot of those charities are sucking large parts off of every dollar donated…and a lot of the rich donate for the tax write off… if we made it so a charity must use 99% of every dollar donated as they say they are…how many charities would be left… and if we took away the tax credit on donations how many of the uber rich would still donate?

Good point. Socialism would make charities basically unnecessary. Yeah. People should research charities before donating.

i want to say by law they are required to tell you wvhen asked what percent of every dollar is actually going to the cause…
ah i did a quick search some charities are basically pocketing 90% of every dollar… i understand there will be costs… but if i give 10$ to lets say veterans and you keep 9$ and only use 1$ to help a veteran out something is wrong…

I hide my wealth. None of you know it, but I am secretly a millionaire with a yacht and a hedge fund. Also, I totally know what a hedge fund is.

Well I am certain I am going to get shot for saying this but…

if I were wealthy I would absolutely make giving a regular part of my finances. Of course. And I would enjoy doing so.

but…I would also enjoy being wealthy. I think it is entirely possible to be wealthy, enjoy your wealth and be a giving, caring and kind person too. I don’t think it is one or the other; wealthy or a good person. You can be both.
