I have a question.
If I was on benefits my whole life, am I still entitled to the state pension.
Eventhough if I would not have done enough NI contributions?
I wonder how much it would be would it be not the full state pension or…

Hiya - ive been on incapacity then ESA for the past 30 years since i was twenty. Im on Income based ESA and my ni contributions are paid for me - so if they dont up the retirement age - you should get the old age pension! Thats was i assume anyway. My mother gets an old age pension with a disabilty componant, and she hasnt worked either for 40 odd years due to COPD.

I think you may just get slightly more when you retire - if your on contribution based ESA. But who knows - since there rolling out Universal Credit…

Thanks for that rogerrob… Yea I’ve just been looking into it it’s so confusing because nothing seems to say so.

And it doesn’t mention what happens if you contribute below that…
Unless wat you assume about income based esa is correct n they pay ni for us including with universal credit.
