Studies have shown pain feels less severe if you swear while you’re being subjected to it.

I feel the same way about mental pain. As long as we don’t overdo it, complaining might lessen the burden a bit.

One thing I have noticed is that coffee winds me up if I have too much. Will stick with tea.

I was watching a movie the other day and the poster on the wall said “be who you are”. I liked that. In other words if you are going thru hard times or a bad day it would seem pretty normal to me to express that. i mean this is a MI forum not optimists international. I mentioned to my mindfulness teacher the other day that i felt envy when i hear about all the fun things people are physically able to still do, felt guilt and shame to admit it, her answer comforted me. “of course you would” Then said a quote something like “who could listen to all the fun someone had all day and they didn’t and not be bothered, a dog.”

I personally think by putting your frustration into words can help you to organize your thinking better, and in some way, may help you to manage the situation as well.

Sometimes you just need to be a downer in order to go back up again… Luckily this place lets you do that without too many consequenses

Okay, I want to know who exactly told you that you were being a pest, so I can mail them a glitter bomb! This is a support forum. It exists so you can receive support.

Positive thinking can help you overcome some mental barriers, and notice the good things in your life. But bottling up all your sadness isn’t healthy. Please, continue sharing when you’re upset. You need human support, and since you’re not getting it from your family, we are more than happy to fill that need. You are not a pest to us.
