Hey all you music lovers! Any of you notice how

Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed’s voices almost sounded the same when they both started out musically in the late 60s and early 70s. I just got done listening to Loaded by The Velvets and that’s when it hit me. Of course, the same could be said of both singing voices and musical instrumentation of any era, really. A more contemporary example might be to compare both John Mayer and Chris Martin of Coldplay’s voices. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Tom Waits sounded very different when he started out too from what I remember.

take Elton John for example…I think he stopped making albums but after about 1990 he started singing differently and it wasn’t good singing in my opinion. I love early Elton John though.
