Some people finding synchronicity while others finding a devil
If anyone is tripping over this currently: You’re not bats - a lot of it IS intentional
During the 1920’s onwards a lot of love songs were written with a second hidden context referring
to Christian ideologies.
Songs about relationships could be interpreted as a human romance or a human’s relationship with God. Many of the artists hiding Christian messages were sporting an Agnostic front.
(Like Joan Armatrading’s ‘Drop the Pilot’ )
Much later, at the start of the Vietnam War, military psychiatrists were experimenting with the same head-trick started by Christians years before however the second party alarmed the Christian Faiths and so preachers started warning about Satan hiding influence in songs.
Enter the 80’s bands like They Might Be Giants and ‘Talking’ Heads came forward making a huge joke the situation as by this time it was a huge mess and filling psychiatrists’ offices.
Oh, and let’s not forget the Beatles who introduced Revelation 9 over airwaves once for experiments sake and then the song was banned to never be played over the air again as the airing did wreak some havoc.
I just wanted to point out that some strange is genuine but some of it has been human meddling.
The term “rock & roll” actually came from a slang term from the 1950’s for having sex. Rockin and Rollin. Revolution #9 was just John Lennon and Yoko Ono. And largely influenced by Yoko Ono. She did all kinds of crazy stuff like that. She can’t sing a lick but if you’re the wife of one of the best musicians in history who’s in the most popular and influential bands ever, you’re going to get on a record.
And this is off topic but by the time the Beatles were doing the White Album they were slowly breaking up as a band and more interested in doing their own thing instead of collaborating with each other. So a lot of those songs were each ones pet projects and they often recorded them either without each other or they were just done by one or two Beatles.
You’re right, there’s a lot of innuendo in rock lyrics, it’s nothing new. The writers often put sexual innuendo in their songs often just as an inside joke but to see if their fans pick up on it and a lot of times just for their own amusement and to see what they could get away with and slip by the censors.
"There’s a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings
In a tree by the brook
There’s a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiving
If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow
Don’t be alarmed now
It’s just a spring clean for the May queen
Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There’s still time to change the road you’re on
Your head is humming and it won’t go
In case you don’t know
The piper’s calling you to join him
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind"
The above Zepplin song is suggesting that marijuana can bring all us all closer to god telepathically
Here’s The Guerillas getting the joke and following suite:
Its always the same with these power ballads and rock tunes…Some mysterious energy enters which they cannot resist… and I guess its going to be like that…
Who wouldnt want some new and exciting company…
When I was actively psychotic it seemed like messages and little knowing nudges were being presented to me wherever I looked, reality as I knew it qualitatively changed and I honestly believed that a new transitory reality where I would go beyond the common understanding of reality would occur. That was a delusion. And the mental state I was in was destroying my mind I couldn’t sleep because of how active my brain was and I struggled to calm myself.
I believed falling asleep would kill me as I knew myself and I would transcend to the next reality. I however have a deep fear of death and this kept me from falling asleep.
This was all a delusion. The fact that my mental state could become so warped had never occured to me, I was implicitly trusting my mind to function without fault and I had never thought that it would actively thwart my reasoning.
Please understand that I’m telling you all this personal information to hopefully appeal to you that I’ve been through this and I’ve come out on the other side back into reality as it is, and am competent now thanks to my medicines and the work of my medical team.
Please don’t do anything rash, if you have a gut feeling that you might harm someone or harm yourself trust it and try to get help
This^
I would add however that I find living outside the common understanding of reality helped me tremendously
I also suspect that early 20th century musicians, wearing agnostic fronts, hid X-Stian messages thus instilling X-Stian’s with a fake phenomena that the true contextual meanings were being shared by through their new found salvation. Mostly relationship songs backhandedly addressing relations with God (ie; Drop the Pilot).
This was later capitalized on by military psychiatrists and smart-arse university science students.
Ok, scratch the second paragraph…didn’t realize this was my thread or that I was repeating my opening post. =P
