well, I figured out that I only have enough money to “live on” next month so in 2 days I will be out of cigarettes. I could stretch the ones I have probably until pay day but then I wouldn’t be able to afford them, so this is it.?
I’ve been there before and what I do is… and this will sound very unorthodox. But what I do is strip the tobacco, use a bong or make a home-made bong(youtube it), add tobacco and put a layer of cough syrup on top to make it last longer, then smoke for days. Smoking from a bong isn’t the best, but this method has got me through some times.
Think how much healthier you’ll be if you’re off cigarettes. I’ve done something similar with food. I didn’t buy as much as I usually do when I went to Wal Mart’s. I’m hoping to lose a little weight.
You know Jukebox, with me it’s the grip of fear when I don’t have something that makes me want it even more.
If I have to cut something out, I trick myself into delaying the gratification for an hour, then 2, then 4, then 6 hours at a time. I never let myself think " this is it-no more".
I tell myself to wait, that I can have some only after the delay, then gradually keep making it longer and longer between times .
The idea is if you allow yourself to think you can have it (but only after the delay) you will lose that grip it has on you and slowly faze them out because you believe you aren’t being cut off from them.
Whatever happens, I hope you can find something in the mean time to distract you that can make you a bit happy.
