Heel infection update!

I am 2 weeks and 2 days into a 6 weeks IV antibiotics treatment plan

I have a PICC line (pretty much a IV line that stays in my arm and ends in a vain near my heart)

I hurt a lot but I’m getting better my heel is pink instead of red but junk is still there… I don’t take pain pills unless I absolutely need it and all I’m allowed is Tylenol due to my IV blood thinners I get daily

I get saline solution, antibiotics, saline solution, blood thinner, all in IV pushes

The antibiotics are in the fridge until 2 hours before injection and when injected it is pushed through slowly (have to be at least 5 minutes pushed)

I get a weekly shipment of meds and my nurse comes over tomorrow at some point (she’ll call before but just an hour or two before she gets here so I have to keep my schedule clear for her) tomorrow I get a blood draw (through the PICC line)

@TheCanuk thanks, I’ve been having panic attacks over it lately… Especially during the IV pushes

Panic attacks are the worst. Trouble breathing, heart palpitations, feeling like you’re going to die, ect… sorry you’re going through this.

Yay, making good progress! I hope it’s not as painful as before IV antibiotics.

I’m glad you’re noticing some healing. Hopefully it goes away completely and you’re good as new

@TheCanuk we had to call the nurse due to chest pain and she said the meds can’t do that so now we’re giving me headphones and I’m trying to figure out what show to watch to distract myself and I found one today but it’s up to date on new episodes… Can you think of a TV show that might help?

The show actually helped today, I only have Hulu on my phone but can get Disney Plus

@Blossom I only feel cold as it goes in but for panic attacks

@LilyoftheValley I know right!

@Blossom @LilyoftheValley @TheCanuk I get panic attacks during IV pushes (just chest pain) my mom checked my pulse isn’t to bad while having them (mom helps calm me) and I get really scared and start to cry but last med IV pushes we gave me a show to watch (new episode of show I like with headphones (nurse suggestion)) and I didn’t have a panic attack, (it went really smoothly) can y’all think of a show on Hulu or Disney+ that has a really good show?? I like my 600lb life, 1000 lb sisters (new episode today made everything smooth), medical stuff (finished my strange addiction), IDK what to watch (I’m really stumped)

When I feel weird or sad I like to watch Mystery Science Theater 3000 commonly abbreviated MST3K.

MST3K has a lot of movies that are free on YouTube and on the free Tubi TV app they have their own channel you can stream at anytime.

It’s basically about this guy and his robot friends who are stuck on a ship and they watch really bad movies and make fun of them.

My husband and I love MST3K lol and rifft tracks (saw rifft tracks live once) so that might work

Awesome!

Yeah, Riff Tracks is also great. They also make fun of some pretty terrible movies LOL.

I love my 600 pound life too. I do wish at times Dr Nowzaradan would be a little nicer.

What about watching Game of Thrones? It’s super good and addictive
