I can’t go to a social setting without having a headache. I don’t know what causes it. As much as it hurts, I still get through it. Like going grocery shopping, or a walk in the mall, or grabbing a coffee. Nothing helps except peace and quiet. I can’t work, I can’t volunteer. I’m supposed to go to a class for dog training but I’m afraid of my headaches.
It could be from social anxiety but I take meds for that.
I highly recommend inhaling Peppermint essential oil or a headache formula made from essential oils. I had to take nasal steroids before if everything else doesn’t work.
Neurologist put me in gabapentin to help with daily headaches. It helped a little. For some super weird reason that no one can explain the haldol helps more, though. Once I got up to about 10+ mg of haldol my headaches pretty much stopped. And I’d had daily headaches for at least a decade. Even my migraines, that I usually got about once a week and needed Zomig to get rid of became much less frequent. I don’t know why, but it’s one of the bonuses to taking Haldol for me.
I live with a permanent painful headache, and the only drugs that noticably reduce pain are Indomethacin, a LOX inhibitor (inhibits a chemical pathway that causes inflammation) and Boswellia, a COX inhibitor (inhibits another inflammation pathway.)
Indomethacin is tricky to get a prescription for without a neurologist, but the Boswellia is available online, or at a herbal store.
Have you been evaluated for a migraine disorder? I have a migraine disorder and take medication for it. It took years to figure out what helps. Geodon is an antipsychotic that is being researched as a migraine treatment. That is what I take. Other options are amitriptyline, topamax, immitrex, gabapentin, and many others. There are hundreds of prescription strength migraine treatments.
I find nicotine helps temporarly but I cant pop them all day.
I just went to the store and bought Bosweilla, it works quite well @naturallycured. Thanks for the suggestion. Was quite expensive but it did the trick. I’ll update soon on it’s effectiveness
@anon57786250 - this really needs to be discussed with a IRL MD ASAP. He/She may refer you to a neurologist and you’ll probably get a head scan - painless.
