Have you ever been to a casino?

I went on my 22nd birthday. I thought $40 would last me all night. It lasted 10 minutes.

I’ve never had such a shitty time in my life.

my hometown and my new town both have casinos so yes. i’ve only gambled a couple times though, losing money, most of the time if i go to the casino it’s to eat at one of the buffet’s or restaurants in the casino. i have also worked at the casino here in town, but i was maintenance on the golf course, just worked outside cutting grass, changing flags, cleaning golf carts, working in mulch beds, things like that. i was never in the casino when i worked there.

I do too well at Blackjack. The kind of well that attracts security. I only go once or twice a year and whatever I win has to go to charity, that’s the rule. I don’t dare keep it.

Play the 25¢ slot machines. My brother made 80$ from a 25¢ that he borrowed from a worker there, so lucky lol

I went one time in college. I brought $20 and only did the slot machines. I never won, but I wasn’t counting on winning anyway. It’s not my thing

I’ve never been to a casino, but I went to horseraces when I was 16. I told them I was 18 when questioned when betting, but I found out you had to be 21.

I went to macao with my brother many years ago. I played texas hold em. I doubled up at first, but then got beat AQ against AK. My brother got about 1200$ from a slot machine though. He was sensible enough to cash in. It was just for a night, then we went back to hong kong.

I won $300 dollars once from a slot machine but I lost it later as the evening went on.
We used to go to this one casino hotel resort quite often before Covid hit.
We no longer go.

I personally am not a gambler but my father likes to play once in a while.

He’s not addicted though.

We love going to Las Vegas to see the sights and for the restaurants, but we never gamble.

I am not a gambler.

I had a boyfriend who was addicted to gambling.

He went to the casino every week more than once a week.

He took me once but I didn’t enjoy it much.
I enjoyed getting dressed up and drinking alcohol I think but I don’t want to gamble.

The horror of losing money.
And I can’t afford it anyway.

It’s not my cup of tea.

Never got into it really.

I don’t buy lottery tickets either.
Can’t afford to buy lottery tickets in my opinion.

I’m thankful I’m not into it.

There are people who lose all they have gambling.

I’ve been to a few casinos. I won $75 once. I don’t spend much. Just play the cheap slots, just to see what’s going on.

I’ve never been to a casino. I do like sports betting though, i spend 10 dollars every Sunday for a football pool.

I always take at least $200, sometimes more. I don’t want to lose but I know I might, and accept it. I go for the experience.

I used to go with my dad and of course we always ate at the cheap or free buffets. We would see some kind of entertainment like a music act or a stand up comedian. But yeah, sitting at a blackjack table with friendly strangers, ordering free, non-alcoholic drinks, slyly ogling the sexy women who serve them.

Walking around playing the slots. Walking around town going in different casinos, going back to the nice hotel room, ordering room service. I just always loved the whole experience. I always allocated a certain amount of money and if I lost it, I stopped and didn’t spend anymore. It was a hard-earned lesson I learned not to go to ATM’s or the bank. I always went prepared that I might lose it all.

I used to live in a casino 4 days a week. I would play poker for 50 hrs a week and reap all the rewards that came with playing . Free rooms, food, and entertainment ! Great times. Unfortunately sz came along and ruined my concentration and motivation, so i no longer live that lifestyle. However if things improve than i just may start playing again.

Been to a casino. Heck I worked at a casino as a valet driver. Couldn’t gamble there as an employee but I drove some cool cars.

Otherwise I enjoy just walking around. Drinking free soda. Watching the elderly spend their pensions. And just people watching. I’ve played blackjack before but not successfully. I’d like to try Texas Hold Em when this covid situation stabilizes.

I was at the Atlantis hotel in the Bahamas when I was a kid. Had to walk through the casino to get to the famous underwater waterslide!

I have been, both for food and for gambling. Not in years though. We have some casinos around here.

I’m surprised this thread hasn’t been closed. Just like Alcohol and Illegal drugs, I think we are only suppose to talk about gambling in a recovery context.

I banned myself from our casino. I am somehow addicted to loose all my money and the winnings. Years later i wanted to get back in and they send me back in therapy/counceling.
