Have you ever been Santa Claus

I was once in the 1980s for children of our family friends, I was quite skinny, children probably figured out that I was Santa.

I AM santa claus. I’m old, overweight and when I let my breard grow it’s grey. I also judge people as being either naughty or nice thanks to my black and white thinking.

In Finnish Santa Claus is Joulupukki, when translated it is the Christmas goat, why is Claus so Santa?

Good question! I had to look it up.

Wikipedia says:

Santa Claus comes from the Dutch words “Sinter Klaas”, which is what they call their favorite saint, St. Nicholas. He is said to have died on December 6, A.D. 342. December 6th is celebrated as his feast day, and in many countries this is the day he arrives with his presents and punishments.

It is interesting, Dec 6 is also the name day of one Finnish name, Nikke (not much used), Nikke was also the informal name of the last Russian Czar Nicholas II, it is also the independence day of Finland, it is all so mystical and then Sinter Klaas is celebrated on the birthday of Jesus. Strange.

That’s pretty funny. I wonder what the history behind this is?

Nope, more like Dopey of the seven dwarfs.

I was not very good Santa Claus, nobody asked me to be Santa again

I played Santa for my kids they had no clue. I looked really good the first year but the suit and wig kinda loose there shape after being stored and worn year after year. I probably did it 3 years , the last year I was pretty pathetic looking.

When I was driving to my mom’s house this afternoon, I saw Santa riding a bike along the country road I was driving on. It was so strange! I guess someone was dressing up to get in the holiday spirit and felt the need to get some exercise.
:santa: :bike:
