Physically? I think I’m traumatized by it to be honest. I think a lot about how it felt, it happened a few times. One time my whole body couldn’t move but I could talk.
I see how that would be incredibly traumatizing. You’re so vulnerable when paralysis happens.
I personally have never been paralyzed except for sleep paralysis. But I imagine if I were to become paralyzed I would be terrified. At least for the first while before my mind became used to it.
I’m sorry you went through that @Froge
One time, in my late 40’s, I had a stroke, from a migraine, and I woke up and couldn’t move my whole right side. I just kept shaking it til feeling and movement came back. I was lucky. It did affect my executive functioning and my swallowing mechanisms a bit.
Off meds I have catatonia, just frozen doing nothing.
I have had catatonic episodes where I couldn’t move or speak. They always happened during the day or evening. Luckily, they never lasted longer than half an hour. They were very scary.
I used to get sleep paralysis!
But not these days.
The ER was worried I had a stroke too but I didnt
Sometimes I would wake up, but not be able to move the body for a few minutes. It’s a unsettling experience.
I passed out during a psychotic episode. Woke up and didnt know where I was or how to move my arms and legs. I kept passing out and the ambulance took me to the hospital. I eventually remembered how to move normally. Ended up in the ward.
That sounds like sleep paralysis maybe
I e had sleep paralysis but the paralysis I’m.talking about I was fully awake and lucid. One time I was turning around and my entire body just froze in place for ten minutes
