Things have improved for women in certain parts of the world and in places like Afghanistan things have gotten worse. I work in a military office building, there are pictures of the officers on the walls and there are more than several high ranking women officers in the building. And also several high ranking gay officers by the way. The high ranking male officers outnumber the women but I think great strides have been made for women’s opportunities in our military. And by the way, the winner of the honor of being “Soldier of the Year” a few years ago was a tiny, cute Vietnamese woman.
