Has anyone had an endoscopy done?

It’s possible that clozapine is making me have acid and stomach problems leading to vomiting

So they are doing an endoscopy tomorrow

Has anyone else been through this procedure?

ChatGPT says the sedative can interact with clozapine

I left the service a message but got no response

I had a gastroscopy done, but not an endoscopy. The sedation was longer than usual. But I’m not on clozapine, I’m on aripiprazole

I was supposed to have one done but haven’t yet been very sick with a viral infection of my nasal passages making my nose stuffy and also having difficulties catching a good deep breath been sick for over two weeks now got sick Oct the 7th soon will be three weeks also was supposed to have a colonoscopy Oct the 29th and had to cancel and told them I would reschedule my appointment when I was better not taking a chance being sedated under anesthesia when I am already having trouble breathing that scares me a little I didn’t want to have it done anyway so looks like I got my way for now only doing it because of Doctors orders I did not request to have it done

I’ve had it done 2 times. It also says caution with my meds but it went well and fast.

I was having them done every 3 months or so, but for one unknown reason,or another,it’s been over 6 months since the last one. I chose sedation when I had mine done, so it wasn’t a bad experience . More psychologically stressful by far was being on the 28 day cancer pathway. That had me worrying myself silly that I had or was going to have cancer.

I’ve had several upper endoscopies. They only give you twilight anesthesia not general. It is like a 10 minute procedure so you’ll be out and awake really fast. The only issue I have is a sore throat afterwards. You will see the anesthesiologist before the procedure and they will make sure you will have the right drug with the meds you take.

Annually. It’s not in my top ten list of things to do on my day off.

I want the spray throat numbing rather than sedation as if I am sedated I have to stay with parents for 24 hours as I live alone. Plus I want to be able to work tomorrow

But might not have a choice

Can’t help reaching or vomiting if I eat something that has even a slight texture I can’t eat

Like mushrooms

Plus it says if you have loose teeth you could lose one

All my teeth are loose from gum disease

I was referred over 6 months ago

I had one done years ago. I was sedated for it. It is a quick procedure. But yeah I also had to have my mum over for 24 hours.

oh man…don’t wanna do that myself…hope not…I did a stress test on my heart back last year…at least you don’t have to do that.

Think my heart is ok now

Had to come off Amisulpride due to QTc prolongation

Ive had a couple done, no big deal. They pass a tube down your throat while your under, you won’t even remember it after it’s done. I was in Clozapine last time I had it done and had no problem with the anesthesia.
