Yep. Don’t watch it. As for myself because it is also a major trigger I use a private browser that doesn’t show the news articles every time I’m on the internet. I take much of the news like my egg’s though, with a grain of salt.
The only way to ignore the news is replace it with something healthy. And that can only be done like an addiction, isolated from the source to force a change in patterns.
The mind is always looking for new information, and the news outlets often prey on people’s attention spans to make money on ads and corporate/popular endorsement.
After being locked up for about 11 day recently, I feel much more at peace, partly because I was involuntarily disconnected from the news cycle.
It is devastating to ignore your needs and necessities, which I was doing, and still am to a large degree, but now I know the difference between fulfilling them and ignoring them.
The larger the fear mongering, the more likely it is you will stop fulfilling your own needs (regardless of your conscious resistance to the effects) which makes you vulnerable and a very easy target for those wishing to exploit you. Advertising companies -literally- do this for a living, and they are only the tip of the iceberg of the social control matrix.
