And while tapering before reaching 0 you had no symptoms, right?
The first time, I started having symptoms when I got down to 40 mg. I had not finished my taper.
The second time, I did not get psychotic symptoms. I did, occasionally, get withdrawal symptoms. When I got withdrawal symptoms, I increased my dose for another week or two.
If you are going to taper off meds, you have to do it extremely slowly over a period of many months with the consent and guidance of your doctor.
If you do it too quickly you are bound to becoming psychotic.
Yes I did. And not always in the best way. Iād say: make a good plan first, have good coping skills and doc/private network in place, and take it slow. Often slower than the doc wantsā¦they tend to underestimate withdrawals in my experience. Monitor what happens to you. The first period is often the worst ime.
I was surprised that the akathisia actually got worse for several weeks after going off APs before starting to fade.
So this more common I see. I thought my doc was being way fast with taper.
I tapered 5mg olanzapine over 8 months. I had to restart due to insomnia and feeling scatterbrained.
I didnāt cut screen usage. Neither maintain exercise and sleep routine. Was stupid to think things will just improve on their own.
I tapered to oleanz plus from oleanz forte and bunch of other medicines. Whatever I do I have to undergo pain. Pain of losing life to mental illness and succumbed to pressure for some time. I will see the end of the tunnel when there is stability and love.
