Hallucinations of all types

Hi all, hope you are all well, or at least coping well. I wonder how many of us have been horrified with diagnosis etc. I’d actually like to make lighter work of this topic, by encouraging thoughts and opinions. Creating a non-judgemental thread where we can all contribute and perhaps thrash this out where we can find a positive way forward. Where we can all share without the worry of being judged or frowned upon, but instead support one another. I look forward in hope of replies.

I have some pleasant hallucinations. If I draw or color and then close my eyes in the dark I see some cool things. I can’t close the door on drawing even though voices say not to and I hate the voice that wants to draw. Problem is is I have guitar and mandolin and that takes most of my energy, just 55 minutes a day and I’m burned out. I write a little too and read a little, just a little…

Hey Jinx, thank you for sharing. May I ask do these hallucinations have a impact on your day-to-day life, do they trouble you at all. See I think things only become a problem when we start to over think, or when hallucinations start to control our way of thinking, or how we react to situations. It would be great if you could share your thoughts on this.

There are different types of hallucinations. I was mentioning the ones from my artwork that I just barely glimpse in my inner eye with my eyes closed. Those are harmless. I have had disturbing hallucinations too and it was an immediate response. I believe all hallucinations come from the inner eye whether they be inside or outside. I have had experiences a few times in life that may not even have happened and seemed rather normal except some anomaly I can’t explain. I have also done things a few times in life that I don’t remember. That is the DID I have but I know I have sza because my symptoms are identical in certain cases to others.

Never get visual hallucinations. Get audio hallucinations a lot but can distinguish between real and not real 100% of the time

Thank you for sharing. May I ask how you cope day-to-day. Do you spend a lot of time focussed on your hallucinations (actually I wonder if we could use a different word to hallucinations)… May I ask what your current outlook on life is right now, how do you feel within yourself etc. I ask because in my opinion this is of more importance to what you may or not be seeing/hearing etc.
