Only half of the brain is sick, while the other half is in control.
New findings. I am using my right brain to counteract the harm done by the left brain. All I can say is the voices are coming from my left logical brain. The lazy (right) eye might have proven this.
Don’t you think this is possible?
Don’t we use both sides of the brain all the time?
I am not sure, but I can see I have two different persons in my head…
This is just unusual belief.
I disagree about the right v. left brain thing, but I do feel that my mind is split into sections of different "me"s and that there are other things outside of my mind that are still in my head but aren’t me. It would be interesting to find out whether that’s just different parts of the brain against each other…
Yes, I call it as “fragmented identities” scattered all over the mind.
Me, too.
Auditory hallucinations do typically occur in the left side of the brain, in the temporal lobe. Visual hallucinations occur in both halves, in the occipital lobe. I’m not sure where delusions and paranoia comes from.
This is useful information. I have never read this before.
Most language processing occurs in the left hemisphere, in a place called Wernicke’s area. I learned this in speech therapy classes.
I believe the mystery of Schizophrenia can be unlocked by looking into the left brain.
Nothing left in my right brain. Nothing right in my left brain.
Haha, it is funny. But how true it is.
I thought the left brain was the creative side, and the right brain was the logical side?
Is this way outdated nowadays?
The opposite, I think.
And left brain controls the right part of the body, while right brain controls the left part of the body. FYI.
I bet paranoia comes from the limbic system which is a associated with emotion. I think it is a form of fear. I think fear is regulated by the amygdala, a structure in the limbic system.
Let me explain- the real reason we have psychosis is because part of the brain called the anterior cingulate is broken. Normally, the anterior cingulate keeps emotions from domineering thoughts. It checks the emotions at the door before they reach into the conscious mind.
It is broken, and our emotions spill into our conscious cortices as hallucinations and delusions.
This means that the symptoms are actually unconscious phenomena which have slipped into consciousness with no checks and balances, and thus they seem real.
Sorry, @AmateurUnlicensedQuack, I can’t quote on my phone for some reason, but this concept really resonates with me. My worst delusions make perfect emotional sense but no logical sense at all.
Maybe in neuroligical findings,
But in thought form, probably not.
I think they likely come from both hemispheres and other areas. Auditory hallucinations probably usually come from the left hemisphere because language is highly lateralized to the left hemisphere (for most people). Most things the brain does are not highly lateralized. Since delusions and paranoia are complex processes, they probably involve a lot of different areas.
I donated my brain to science when I was 8 years old. They never returned it.
