My doc increased my Prozac from 40 mg to 60 mg a day. She told me to be patient and that some people it takes 3 or 4 months to feel less anxiety. I started Prozac on August 2nd.
My Olanzapine is staying the same, 20 mg a night.
My blood pressure and heart rate was high but she said it could be white coat syndrome. I was anxious/stressed so my numbers were bad. My BP was 137/93. Resting heart rate was 102.
I’m 29 years old.
I mentioned Buspar and she said she was not a fan of it. I also mentioned gabapentin and the other one that starts with a “P” that I cant remember, she said we might give those a try in the future, but first she wants me to try 60 mg Prozac
I have the same blood pressure. Trying to get my doc to put me on meds but he hasnt done it yet. Frustrating. I also have high cholesterol. How was your cholesterol? I think the meds raise cholesterol and blood pressure.
When I went to the hospital 2 months ago, I got a blood test done and the doctor said nothing about my cholesterol so I think i’m good.
Also, one of my previous doctors who is now retired told me they dont start to worry about blood pressure until you are in your 30’s. Im still in my 20’s. Add in the “white coat syndrome” i’m not worried about my blood pressure. Resting at home its probably like 127/83.
Forgot to add that she also wrote me a script for 12 Ativans (1mg each) she said that I need to try my best not to take it often and that she doesnt like to give them to her patients because of dependency issues.
I tried bisoprolol and it made me dizzy and didnt really help with my anxiety. And I thought I read that people with asthma like myself shouldnt take beta blockers.
That’s exactly what I thought too CoCo. Its not that high.
When I went to college for Health, Wellness & Fitness, I learned that when you become a personal trainer, as long as your clients blood pressure is 144/94 or below, you can put them through a workout. Anything higher then 144/94 you cant train them that day.
My heart is fine. I got a EKG done not too long ago, came back normal. Blood test was normal too. I’m 29 years old, I have age on my side when it comes to my heart health. My heart rate and blood pressure were high probably because of “White Coat Syndrome” google it.
