They have to interview several more people today and will let me know in 3 days. For some reason I’m feeling really down and discouraged. I can’t be available more than 15 hours per week because I’m being followed and recorded and I just can’t handle dealing with it more than that right now. Frankly I’m not at all ready to return to work at all, but if I don’t we will lose our home. I’m going to have to apply at Subway and see how that works out. They’re more willing to have people work fewer hours. But I just feel defeated and depressed
Sounds pretty serious.
It took similar circumstances that forced me into working.
We have to do what we can to survive and live as best as we can.
Sometimes that means fighting back against challenges and trying to get past your barriers
Have you considered custodial work? It has a few advantages over many other jobs. For one thing, it isn’t that physically hard, another thing is it’s fairly easy to learn. You might find a place like mine and get to work alone most of the time. And with this COVID-19 most of the workers are working at home and I’m working uninterrupted in almost empty buildings. I don’t know if you could find the same set-up I have, but custodial work is usually the same at most workplaces. Sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms etc. I only work 17 hours a week with paid lunch of course and a 15 minute break. I think Federal minimum wage is $10 and hour right now; I make $16.00 an hour.
I’ll look into that. Thanks!
