“When you hold a grudge, you want someone else’s sorrow to reflect your level of hurt, but the two rarely meet. Let go… Sometimes, forgiveness is simply a reflection of loving yourself enough to move on.”

Well said …!!!
It is beautiful. If only it was easy …
It’s not easy. At all.
I have held a lot of grudges… but I found I held those usually for people I cared for at one point. I have the capacity to forgive and let them back in. But if it’s about self respect… I won’t let them back in. I cease to let it effect me. No grudges involved. Cos those grudges have only ever hurt me.
There have been people i cared for in my life that in any logical situation i should not even consider their existence. If i think of the hurt i have been through i will become a hermit and live in some secluded place by myself until death.
It is the truth - so rare to actually find a good real friend, a good real partner or even family members who will support you or understand you or really try to help you or even sympathize with you. And if by any chance you are doing better than others then forget it
It is not a grudge really. I forgave a long time ago but the frustration of not being able to enjoy life with people you love is the worst.
