Got bit by a pitbull boxer mix

As the title says, I was bit buy a pitbull boxer mix. I am staying at a cousin’s house for the night because the weather is bad and would normally have to commute to work which is an hour away from where I live.

This was the first time I’d come over here and the dog was let out of the bathroom (there are actually two dogs but only the pitbull boxer came at me the other dog was a pitbull and it didn’t do anything).

Anyways I got bit pretty good on the upper thigh area and also got bit on the stomach. I bled from both areas but the upper leg thigh one hurts the most.

Has anybody else been bit by a dog lately?

Ouch :frowning: did you have to seek medical attention?

No, ideally I would have put peroxide on the wounds but I couldn’t find any here and they are at a brewery. I cleaned good with soap though in the shower and it washed some of the dry blood I can post a picture but I don’t know if anybody really wants to see that ha.

it was really surprising when it started happening because I didn’t understand what was going on I didn’t register the pain right away when it went to my stomach, I think that’s where it got me first, but it registered on the leg and I start saying it hurt and she pulled back on the pitbull boxer and yeah, that was that.

Yeah shock can really prevent us from feeling pain

Yeah no joke I didn’t feel too much of anything at first I thought I was just being played with by the dog just a bit of an excited greeting then it set in that it was actually going after me and I tried pushing it off of me, I’m glad my cousin was able to pull it off.

No, my dogs are very gentle.
My dogs do play bites though, but that’s when they want to play with me.

After I met you I was in the wilderness for several years, studying bichemical diplomacy until I met my first love, I don’t know where she is now, but it doesn’t matter, we are working on the dowry, at least my sibling is divorced and with child

Infection is always a concern with bite wounds. Do you have any antibiotic ointment you can put on the wounds?

I don’t have any idea what you are talking about

I text my cousin, she is upstairs, about it and she doesn’t have any. I think it’s probably fine since it didn’t go through my clothes directly onto skin, somehow my clothes didn’t get ripped or torn.

I washed it with soap so that’s better than nothing I guess.

I have a lot of experience with dogs. There are a lot of great dogs out there. And there are a small number of dogs who are, well, a bit aggressive. Quite frankly, I’d report it. What if it had been a child that was bitten? What if your cousin hadn’t been there? Things could have been so much worse. This needs to be documented.

Yes a few months ago when I was doing my dog grooming course I got bit and it bled.

I had to have a tetanus jab and a course of anti biopics. I suggest you do the same. If it bled it means you need it.

If you got bit you’ll probably need your tetanus booster updated, as well as antibiotics, like @Qwerty said. Please go to a doctor.

Did you think or say Yahweh manan ital? You know normally you’re supposed to kindly sniff and exhale twice through your nose then respectfully and courteously go… “Shh shh sh.” Like you would to a baby, also don’t make eye contact immediately to a stranger that is not looking at you. oh but do not bare your teeth at a dog you are not familiar with.

you should go to dr and get shots for rabies. to be safe, and tetnus as well. dog can be protective, but some can get you sick if they draw blood from ya. i hope you get well soon.

Happy cakeday to you!
