Dad has an unusual form of cardiomyopathy. Structurally his heart is very unusual. This can be genetic. He has been DNA tested for most of the genes commonly associated with cardiomyopathy but tests negative for them all.
However this doesn’t exclude it possibly being genetic - it could be due to a gene change so far unknown to medicine
As a result I had to be dna tested. Like my father all tests came back negative.
However they do require me to have 5 yearly echo scans of my heart to see if it has developed disease. So far no problems.
