Good venues for education

I already spent two years at a four year liberal arts university and have nothing to show for it. I’m thinking that if I scored in the 99th percentile on the standard exam in the ninth grade that I can study and bring my attention back. I just don’t know where to start. Can someone point me to some good education resources or tests to take to prove and practice?

Good place to start…

There is no shortage of free, highly quality educational content online.

A lot of people think that going to a traditional university is necessary, but for many people it isn’t. If obtaining a degree in the subjects that you’re interested in isn’t likely going to lead to you finding employment in that field, then you’re much better off just learning for free online and not getting in debt.

Edit: here’s a better list of free online courses that you can take:

In the off chance you’re actually interested in learning a hard science, I’m always looking for a study buddy for such classes. I assume you’re probably interested in humanities or literature though, which I unfortunately do not have any interest in pursing at this point in my life.

I tried an online course a couple of years ago from edx.org I believe. I wasn’t ready for it then but now that you guys have mentioned them, I’m thinking of taking an online course again. This one seems tasty:

Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python

I love Python.

Yeah, I was already registered with edx, so I just signed up to audit that course.

Thank you so much, I will check out those resource soon!

So far I have found Harvard online free courses and Standford youtube lectures really helpful. Plus TED talks and MIT.

Yes I am definitely interested in lit. In fact I want to publish a good novel I think that will help boost my income. I was thinking about a how-to book or steam punk romance.
