Good riddance to Abilify!

I’m glad you have good insight sometimes even when I’m manic I either don’t know it or I wanna “feel even better” you know what the paranoid feelings get they suck hardcore

I forgot about this but before my doctor went away on vacation her plan was to eliminate the Lamictal because the combination of Lamictal and Abilify can exacerbate manic episodes

They are both activating drugs that can induce mania on their own but especially when they are combined.

I wonder if I should eliminate the Lamictal on my own or contact her fill in backup doctor?

Maybe if I eliminate the Lamictal I’ll settle down a bit more?

That’s probably the wise thing to do.

I don’t like playing doctor but lamictal is the only thing that works for my bipolar depression but if your already manic and I might regret saying this which is why I’m scared but taper off the lamictal BUT keep it as a backup and most importantly stay safe do it slowly don’t go off of it cold turkey please and make sure to tell your real doctor cuz I got my dr degree from google :joy:

One thing that legit slipped my mind was my sisters psychiatrist told both of us that he has patients with bipolar/schizoaffective disorder that haven’t had a single manic/depression episode since they were on it idk I really don’t know what to tell you if something were to happen to you from my advice I’d have nothing but regrets so please take this with a grain of salt

Thanks @everhopeful and @anon24748973

No you are right, Lamictal has been a Godsend for my bipolar depression

I’m not going to mess with the Lamictal

I have no choice but to stop taking the Abilify.

Going to take my PRN now and see if this helps for now.

Thanks again guys!

Ok but remember if you start getting symptoms make sure to listen to your doctor he/she knows a lot more about medicine than I do they have to gl to school for 10 years and I’ve basically been on google for 10 minutes :joy: and also they mess up a lot too :joy: it’s such a hard thing to do figuring out what meds work

I settled down nicely with the Klonopin

I’m wondering if I should take take Klonopin when I get too high with the Abilify.

I’ll make the decision tomorrow

I may also call up the back up doctor and see what she and my doctor want to do.

I’m pretty sure that my doctor wants me to stick with it

I’ve always found that benzos kill the manic symptoms but also make me a bit depressed however if you take it properly it can do a good job on mania I think klonopin is fda approved for mania

Just a hunch, but could it be due to Abilifys long half life? I dunno when you started taking it but it seems the blood level is high enough to trigger what you are experiencing.

I stopped cold turkey about eight years ago, and can attest to the fact that you don’t get any crazier or more delusional, I am just the same as back then.

Fisher man if I remember right you are on Haldol.
I’m on its cosin drug Clopixol. I know that most people curse 1 Gen. Drugs and say they are dangerous while a handful of people swear to them.
Just like Haldol saved your life I must say that Clopixol saved my life from dying from psychosis.
And I’ve been married to Clopixol depot for 27 years to dead do us apart. Clopixol has not caused any damaging effects to me yet.

Klonopin (Clonazepam) usually works for me when real anxious and before doing anything that can give me panic attacks

Been on it for about 10 years. I tried to go off it but I feel dependent on it. The withdrawal symptoms are nasty.
Just don’t go on a high dose and try not being on it for too long

Abilify is really a strange drug
Everyday I’m getting different symptoms

For most of the days it was very activating, causing me mania

Today it’s making me sedate and calm, no activation

Things may change 10 minutes from now!

Yeah maybe it will level out idk I read your post that you slept for 13 hours I’m not a doctor but that’s really good for treating mania they say sleep is a bipolar treatment in itself it’s all natural and no side effects
