I am running out of Latuda in a month, but it is not yet available in Greece.
Does anyone know a good alternative/substitute, one that might be available here?
I have taken Invega in the past, raised my prolactin levels through the roof. I’ve also taken Abilify, but it stopped working.
Risperdal I’ve tried briefly, and it seemed to work alright, but I worry about prolactin.
I’m very happy with Latuda and I’d love to try something similar.
Any ideas?
All of these are chemically similar to Latuda. Personally, both Geodon and Fanapt work best. I take Latuda 80mg and 40mg currently and it works well.
I took Fanapt for about half a year and only switched because my new doc wanted to try something different for my hallucinations.
If invega increased your prolactin, risperdal might do the same.
Why not Risperdal? You had serious side effects from it? Remember there is no perfect med for sz, that’s what my psychiatrist said.
I recently switched from Latuda to Risperdal and my thinking is more positive with slightly less negative and cognitive symptoms.
I have tried Abilify, Olanzapine, Latuda and Risperdal was the best. We don’t really have other meds here in Canada.
I took Latuda for 2 years but ended up switching back to Perphenazine becuase of side effects. Its an older one, but its been the best med i’ve been on (less akathasia and sexual side effects, and its been weight neutral for me). I’m a dude though so it could be different for you. Puls I bet its cheaper without insurance than any of the newer meds.
