Gonna Stop Meds!

Taper your meds off if you are going to attempt stopping your medications. I advise you re-think this very carefully btw . Weigh things up :face_with_thermometer: before doing anything drastic! You have people in your life that care about you a lot and wouldn’t want you to be ill. I realize that i wanted to justify that i am right all the while. Today went to another pdoc. Got some more insight about my illness. he freshly looked at my symptoms and said its bipolar. He prescribed lurasidone 40 along with arifine 2.5 and lithosun. I might continue medication for the fact that you all know about the illness more than me and no one has whole heartedly felt good about stopping and i am advised against stopping medicine by couple of pdocs.

I agree with you, Anna. The meds are very good for a sick person. Quiting the meds means hell.

Everyone here has been great to make me understand about the importance of meds. I want to vent and vent strong against the evil that has entered me since so many years. It wants me to be alone. maybe since childhood i am experiencing lot of trouble being social. Its just the way it is and i have to deal with it. Just the pain it has caused to people around me has not sufficed. So whatever the way i am trying to cope with reality is not going to change unless there is something great with me has to happen. Hope the meds can help me with that. This is a severe mood change or swing since yesterday.

I’m glad you feel better after talking to your pdoc. I hope your new medications work better for you, with fewer side effects!

My post here disappeared and that’s very unfortunate.

I have been dealing with SZ for over 25 years. I have a wife, daughter, career, and respect in my community. None of this would be possible without my medications and the stability they provide me. I cannot emphasize just what a bad idea quitting meds is. I have been around this community long enough to see what happens to people who go off their meds. Some don’t bounce back and you can tell how damaged they are when they post these days.

My advice if you’re going to go off them would be go slow, withdrawl can be a nightmare. Taper off slowly and see how it goes, you don’t want to rush.
