Getting some insulin today

I talked to the pharmacist and he is able to get me some Lantus through some sort of manufacturers deal today.

It turns out both the Glargine generic and name brand are on back order.

What doesnt make sense to me is that my doc sent in a prescription for Lantus on the 26th , the day before Thanksgiving and they are just now filling it.

I guess the reasoning was that it was not covered by insurance like the Glargine and they were not filling it because of it.

It doesnt make sense that if my doc wrote a script for it , and they knew the Glargine was on backorder, they didnt fill it before now.

Why did it take them a week to figure out that they could use the manufacturers deal to get it for 35 dollars? Why didnt they do this a week ago? I dont know.

I shouldnt have to pay anything at all because my out of pocket is met for the year, but the stupid manufacturer of the insulin is screwy. Same manufacturer that made a defective pen that put me in this situation in the first place.

Oh well. Paying 35 dollars is better than the alternative of not having any insulin.

To me, drugs like insulin should be at no cost. Drug companies like to really screw with the diabetics. I won’t tell you how much my concentrated insulin costs per month. It’s robbery.

I’m relieved to see you finally have insulin. Total BS. After an experience like that, I’d want to change pharmacies
