Getting my heart checked out

So yesterday when I was at the doctor to get scans and checked for abdominal pain they checked my heart rate and it was at 192, which is incredibly high. My blood pressure was perfect though. They did an ekg and it was fine. I’m going to see a cardiologist to see if my meds are f-cking up my heart. Which might mean a med change, which scares me.

Good luck. I know it scares you but physical health is important too.

You don’t happen to be on Geodon?

No I’m now on Latuda. Which can cause tachycardia so I’m a bit nervous

Good luck @Air.
Risperdal gave me tachycardia a few times in the past but I’m still on it.

Good your getting the tests done. Better to find out and get treated than have a problem. Hope you get it all sorted.

I have a fast heart rate too. Around 115. I think my haldol is doing that to me. Yours is really fast. Hope they help you.

Are you drinking a lot of caffeine? My heat rate was a little fast too. But I consume way too much caffeine. I have to cut back

They will probably just give you another ekg. I had a heart scare last year but it turned out to be nothing.

I quit Geodon cold turkey for 4 or 5 days and that was rough. So glad I can still take it. I take Latuda too. They upped my Latuda when I quit the Geodon but I still had trouble and pooped one on two of the days because it got so bad.

If you are stable hopefully you don’t have to switch meds.

Same here. I’ve had this problem almost 45 years.

I never drink caffeine. For some reason it makes me psychotic. However I do smoke which I know is hard on the heart

Get better soon. I had a very similar situation on Seroquel. Sent my heart rate as fast as yours. Every time I took it I’d spend the night in bed with a fast heart rate.

I also take seroquel. Maybe that’s the problem

Certainly was mine. I don’t know where my pdoc got his numbers from or if they’re even correct, but he said on Seroquel there was a 10% chance of tachycardia. Scary as hell when it’s happening to you as you’d know. Best of luck.

Hi Puggo Thanks for your Post - Thought i was the only one- I have Exactly the same thing on Seroquel (Quitiapine ) Super Fast heart - ( Not Like a Panic Attack ) Still Calm but then i started getting what i would describe as Muscle Cramp in the heart Area - Which made me panic and have a real Panic Attack due to the fear of a heart problem. I No Longer want to take seroquel and have asked for a med Review - Thanks - It’s good when you know it’s not just you

Glad to help. My pdoc took me straight off it when he took my heart rate. Hope you can get the change too, although the medication worked so well for me mentally, my heart just couldn’t handle it. Best of luck to you.
