Genetic predisposition in schizophrenia researched. Over 100 genes thought to play a part

The largest study ever undertaken into the genetic basis of mental illnesses has found more than 100 genes that play some kind of role in the development of schizophrenia – one of the most common of the serious psychiatric disorders.

I thought this might be of interest to some, my mum was reading the newspaper when she saw it, I do wonder how this applies to me though. I’m the first in my family to suffer from psychosis of any form. But nonetheless, it was interesting, even though I feel it is taking a very reductionist stance, which sort of disregards the impact of environment on schizophrenia. Anyway; I’d be interested to see how some of you view it
