From olanzapine to aripiprazole

I have been on olanzapine a long time, but recently tried switching to abilify. I got really bad sideeffects from abilify the very first day like twitching, pains in my head, inconsistent heartbeats and breathing, and nausea. For me the right thing to do was to quit ablifiy right away and get back on olanzapine.

I managed to have my doctor recently agree that I only take 3,75mg olanzapine which is working fine so far. I was on 5mg before. The only real problem I have is brain inflammation probably caused by the drugs which causes physical pain in my head, but I’m taking anti-inflammatory supplements to help me out. Right now is the best I’ve had it in a long time medicine wise since 3,75 seems to just be enough to keep me cool, and I get less side-effects on a lower dose.

Why did you quite abilify

It wasn’t fully effective for my positive symptoms and it caused impulsivity and shopping addiction.

I’ve taken both drugs, and I had to be taken off both. Olanzapine made me crave sugar and want to sleep a lot. I gained 60 lbs. in 120 days on it. Olanzapine made me want to sleep a lot. Aripiprazole got me a little too hyped up. I actually got a pretty good increase in physical strength because of it. But like I said, it got me a little too hyped up. … These are just my reactions to these drugs. Your reaction might be different.
