From Now Till Forever

One thing is on my mind continually
When will the imprisonment end
The politicians say as soon as possible
The doctors say at least June
I don’t want to dwell on how I feel at the moment
But I’ll tell you what I do when I am paroled
I’ll get a haircut as soon as I can
I kiss the ground where the entrance to the store stands
I’ll go to the businesses that remain
I’ll be less insane
I’ll greet my family members with big hugs
I’ll thank the Lord above
We’ll celebrate rites of passage
We’ll cry for the dearly departed
And hopefully never take freedom for granted again
