Has anyone successfully gotten their pdoc to switch them from an inject able medication to an oral medication because they could not afford the cost of the injection? If i am forced to enroll in medicare part d even if i get some help it may still be too much for me to afford. Invega sustenna is a 5 tier specialty drug. I can always retry patient assistance but they may still deny me. I was switched from oral to an injection because i would not take my medication in the first place. I am long passed that time in my life. I now understand that I have to take medication or I will relapse. I keep track of all my visits to the nurse for my injection. Nobody reminds me and i drive myself there. If i really didn’t want to comply with taking my medications I would simply not show up for my appointment. I have been showing up on time for my appointments for the past 5 and a half years. I simply can’t afford to have like over 3000 dollars a year in medication and drs. visits expenses. Plus I also buy my own dental insurance. I may need to try something cheaper but I don’t think it is gonna go over well with the dr.
You won’t know unless you try. Just make your case like you did here. I think that is the best route. Good luck
