Freaking Out

I have a pitbull mix female dog named Aeri (Aerilyn) and I just read a warning about keeping your pitbulls inside on halloween because people will try to hurt them or shoot them. And we used to do this in the past with our black cat, by keeping him indoors, but I literally cannot bring my pitbull inside anymore. As you can see she stays on a run in the backyard with her dog house. I begged my mom to let me bring her in her crate inside on Halloween and she hasn’t responded yet. but I think I would have another break if my dog died. As you can see she is extremely precious and I’m just tearing up thinking about anyone trying to hurt her. She isn’t mean at all. If people approached her she would be really excited. I don’t know what to do. I love her more than anything. When I need to get away from humans, I go and chill with her whenever I need to.

Any advice? Am I overreacting? Cause im really disturbed.

Why would ppl do that? But I’d keep her inside if it was my dog. I have a dog too but we live in an apartment. It’s an 8 years old cross breed.

I certainly wouldn’t leave a black cat out near Halloween but I don’t know about a pit bull. I would be concerned in general about it being taken for dog fights.

Maybe, if you can’t bring her in, you can spend some time with her outside on Halloween.

I love dogs and anyone that hurts a dog is a piece of ■■■■.

Because people are really biased against pitbulls. Think they are fighting, aggressive dogs. But she’s really not. She’s the sweetest thing, just a little too overractive for my to handle all the time. I’m really distressed right now. Two of my cats in our neighborhood and ten others had been kidnapped by a local cult and sacrificed them at some traintracks down some road. I’ve been real sketch. I always thought Aeri would be safe because she could seriously hurt anyone who was trying to hurt her, shes accidentally bit me in excitement a few times but I know its because I don’t give her the attention she needs due to always being sick. Ugh. I’m just so scared and with the history of the cats in my mind, I’m really terrified.

Try being with her on halloween. Keep guard over her. Play with her. I don’t think anyone will take her if you are there.

I just hope I’m not working. If I get a response from my mom and she says yes I won’t worry about it too much. If it wasn’t so late I would text my bosses and see if we are closed on halloween, otherwise I may request to be scheduled off. since its friday and I only work fridays and saturdays normally, this might be hard to get out…

You could call your self sick. Flue or migraines or back pain or something.

I could use my gastroparesis as an excuse, but I’m terrible at lying… and I’d feel really guilty to leave them hanging like that. I always get anxious when someone calls in on a day I work. I wouldn’t want to do that to my coworkers. I have a feeling my mom will say yes just to keep me calm, so I’m trying to relax.

Here are a couple of options that might work. Boarding her in a kennel for the night. Expensive but definitely safe. Another idea is to hire a sitter for the night, some kid who will hang out with her and keep an eye on her.
