Four APs at once?

I’m thinking about asking my pdoc about adding a fourth AP, since I still have positive symptoms. What do y’all think?

Or should I try re-upping my Zyprexa? What’s your opinion?

Up zyprexa first

Perhaps you havent found the right one(s) for you yet if you feel you need to add a 4th. The risk of side effects go up, especially the shaking and involuntary movement, with the more you’re on. Maybe try to replace the ones youre on before adding a 4th.

My personal preference is monotherapy. I could not imagine being on more than one AP. I had Haldol added temporarily and I did not like it.

I wouldn’t do it. It’s dangerous the more you are on. If you are adding a new one I would at least quit one of the others you take.

Maybe you could try the supplement route and find some relief there. Perhaps NAC and therapeutic dose Niacin. At least that’s a lot safer than adding another ap.

I thought that alot of us will have some positive symptoms even on meds, just part of life, have to learn to ignore as much as possible

I’ve been on 4 at one point. Didn’t do much because they were all ineffective.

Have you ever tried Clozapine (The Gold standard for positives with rathet manageable sideeffects)???..

No I’m taking Seroquel and Geodon now. They don’t work 100% but help enough that I think I’ll be fine. Pdoc doesn’t want me to try Clozapine.

Thanks for the advice, y’all! I meet with my pdoc on the 16th.

I wouldn’t. With every AP u take u increase the risk of fatal heart arrhythmias and NMS and serious stuff.

We ended up increasing my nightly Zyprexa from 5 mg to 10 mg.

That’s insane.

Please don’t do that.

If I had to take 4 antipsychotics at the same time to combat positive symptoms then I would ask for stronger meds( this is not a recommendtion but eg. ( Smisulpride-Solian the 2. strongest meds or C*******e the strongest for the positives)
