Why when replying to someone sometimes it doesn’t show as a reply?

I think if youre replying to the post directly above you it doesnt show

It works but I did it earlier in another thread and it didn’t work.

If you reply to the post directly above you it shows nothing.

If you respond to any other post it will show a reply icon with the person youre replying to’s icon

If you click that icon you can see what’s being replied to
